Does anyone know how many weeks the GOAT test is given to a patient before they determine that they are out of pta , if the patient is unable to answer any of the questions?

It is usually the occupational therapists who do that test but obviously results reviewed by neurologists. As far as I can tell (neurologist sec), whilst the patient remains in hospital they will continue to do GOAT test at intervals to see if any improvement. Whilst the patient can't answer any of the questions they are still very much in PTA.

PS: So, if they can't answer any questions, they might leave a bit of an interval before next test. Also, nurses will be reporting if they think patient is showing any change with regard to orientation, etc.

Thank you. What if the patient can’t answer any of the questions after 3 months and are not showing any signs of improvement? Do they just assume (obviously based on experience etc) that the patient will be permanently brain damaged.
