Cake baking question- urgent!

It's Dd's birthday tomorrow and I want to make her a cake. The recipe is for 3 layers in 20cm tins. I have 2 23cm tins. Can anyone tell me if I can get away with 2 larger layers or will the cooking time be messed up?

Should be fine - just leave in a little longer and check them with a skewer

Thank you, I don't have a lot of baking confidence, I think I just need to go for it!

The cooking time will change as the depth of the layers will be different. You might end up with too much batter - make it into cupcakes or throw it away.

Check with a skewer or by pressing gently in the middle - it should spring back immediately
