How can I use my laptop on the sofa? Any stand recommendations?

I can't use a tray for my lap as I need to attend Teams meetings so I'd want something tall and in front of me - kind of like a desk but not a desk. But something that I can put away easily. Asking for too much? Has anybody managed to make an office space from their sofa? I know it's bad for me etc but I promise I'm not here all day :-)

I use a dining chair with a couple of large books on it to make the laptop slightly higher. Works well for meetings. You can't get a good position as a desk to type in from a sofa though

Thank you! Yes I'm not worried about typing, just about appearing on screen from an angle that isn't the floor

Yes exactly like that! Can they go quite tall? I can never understand the measurements they give

You can get ones that are height adjustable and which can just sort of wheel into position over your lap on the sofa - overchair wheeled tables. I think some of them fold away quite neatly too. They're probably a bit more stable than the ones with legs that sit around you that probably move as you adjust yourself on the sofa. Guess you have to check the measurements to ensure that the castors and base would slide under the sofa you have however.
