Is there an obvious solution to this?

I need to send my marriage certificate to the DVLA which they will return second class. I would prefer (and was happy to pay for) to enclose a ‘Signed For’ SAE, it’s £2.06 rather than £15 if the certificate goes missing.

All good so far except a Signed For postage label expires at 11.59 p.m. seven days after its purchase and I obviously can’t guarantee the DVLA will get through my application in 7 days.

I’ll need to send the marriage certificate to a few different places over the next few months and I would be happy to keep enclosing Signed For envelopes but there’s not much point if they expire within a week.

Is there another obvious solution here? Cross my fingers it gets back to me? Probably not a big deal but for the sake of two quid it seemed like a good option - clearly not! 😕

If you are concerned about the original getting lost, perhaps get a copy from your local registry office
