How far would you travel for a day out?

I would say for myself by a car anything an hour or under for me.

No more than 2.5 hours max.
I once travelled 4.5 hours each way, I was young and not long passed my test and thought it was a good idea at the time. Luckily I was able to share the driving with my boyfriend. Nightmare!

I wouldn’t want to drive for longer than I was actually at the place I was visiting. So for a (long) day trip, maybe 2 - 3 hours each way but for most things well under that.

The longest we normally do is 2 hours but it has to be something special.

Yes 2 hours at most
For example Alton towers is nearly 3 hours. I know people have done this in a day, but it’s not for me
