How close are you to her? Do you know her likes/interests?

Soutiner · 11/01/2021 17:58

I’m a similar age and I’m extremely difficult to buy for as I have all that I want and very particular tastes in things and don’t want chocolates, flowers, toiletries etc.

You get to that stage where it’s all tut/tat/crap!!

A nice pair of earrings would be nice as a gift, I suppose.

I'm not 60, but if I were choosing I'd go for flowers or a plant, or a nice pen. I wouldn't want jewellry or a scarf etc.

But the most valuable thing would be the card/letter you sent explaining why you wanted to give me a present.

Thanks all for input.

I thought about getting these - are they nice or weird? I thought it would be more sustainable than fresh flowers.

I am close to her but I don't know what she'd like. She's not materialistic at all!

That permanent flower arrangement might appeal to some but to me it would be classed as a dust gatherer.

If she’s not materialistic and probably doesn’t actually need or want anything then what about a plant for her garden?

What about a neom oil diffuser? Or some of their candles/ bath oils?

Eesh sorry that wouldn't do it for me at all. Indoor or outdoor plant would be more sustainable.

Flowers personal yet impartial..a great surprise for anyone

I got my manager a tree of life hanging glass globe (I know she likes things like that though)

feliciabirthgiver · 11/01/2021 23:02

My team sent me a gin hamper and I was thrilled, any kind of hamper (with or without alcohol) would have been gratefully received. I do have to be honest though, it was the thought that counted and the accompanying card meant more than the actual gift. It a lovely thing to do OP.
