Yes I'm aware people have been saying it for yonks. My point is that's its a not very nice way of saying neither blonde nor brown.

It is definitely Blonde, not Brown.

No hairdresser would call that Brown.

Have a look at this colour chart, which is fairly inibersal. Note how far in you go before Brown appears.

Most people have a distorted idea of how dark Blonde can go before it’s Brown.

I don't know why some people are getting arsey about mousey hair!? It's definitely a legitimate shade of hair colour and actually not a bad one to have if you like to dye your hair as you're half way between light and dark. I have the darkest brown hair which is an expensive and high maintenance pain in the arse to lighten.

My natural colour would go golden blonde on mid length and ends.

I think I might be a very dark blonde.

Mouse is definitely a hair colour! Not being snarky.

It's the colour most platinum blond children end up with.

It's a nice colour, but most people with it don't like it because they used to be blond and preferred that.

My eldest was born with mouse coloured hair, unusually! It has never changed.

My DD’s is very similar to the picture of you as a child @Chocolate2020. I call it light golden brown - it turns golden blonde in the sun.

Btw, the fancy way of saying mousey is “bronde”! Your first picture looks more ashy to me though.

It’s not brown. It’s dark ash blonde. Also known as ‘new potato’.

Scarlet’s hair in that picture is definitely blonde.

My hair colour is the same as yours, OP. Although, it's much lighter in the summer. I've never been referred to as being a brunette!

Specifically, I would say it's "ash blonde"

Although, I do sometimes joke about it looking grey

I think my hair is quite similar to yours OP, although it has more gold and some reddish tones in it It turns more of a medium golden blonde a couple of inches from the roots, and lighter again towards the ends. It's not coloured.
My hairdresser calls it medium/dark golden blonde. I call it mouse.
