Want to order nice treat things to cheer us up during lockdown - any ideas?

I'm thinking 'cos it's all a bit "bleh" at the moment and we're not really going anywhere, getting some nice treat things, whether it be food, fancy crafts, whatever would be nice?
I've just recently realised that Grasmere Gingerbread has an online shop, so I foresee buying lots of rum butter and gingerbread slabs! (No, I don't work for them lol before anyone starts Grin )
Where else has nice stuff to buy online?
Things you don't usually

DIY bacon naan kit from Dishoom
Frying pan pizza kit from Pizza Pilgrims
Doughnut decorating kit from Doughnut Time
Pasta from either Pasta Evangelists or Nonna Tonda

Can you tell we like food Grin

Cherryup · 11/01/2021 00:15

Most of mine of related to food too! Dipping boxes, cheese platters, brownie boxes..

I've also started having candles lit everywhere and buying fresh flowers, feels like a treat

lurker101 · 11/01/2021 00:22

Great shouts @Turnedouttoes might have to try the pizza pilgrims kit
we did the Bleecker x BAO home kit and it was amazing! Would highly recommend the bleecker kits if you like burgers!
Also Dumpling Shack are selling their Mala Chilli oil on their website - it goes on every meal in our house.
Mei Mei’s Kaya coconut jam is also amazing with egg and toast for an exciting Singaporean breakfast
If you’re London based - Humble Crumble do the best crumbles I’ve tasted and can deliver.
Hawksmoor home kits look fab but I’ve not had it yet unfortunately.
We’ve also treated ourselves to some really lovely Portuguese soap for the shower - it makes showering such a treat!
I’ve also been working my way through my candle and diffuser collections and love the variation.

Quaagars · 11/01/2021 00:27

Ooh, replies! Keep 'em coming Grin
These all sound great, will have a look - unfortunately nowhere near London but will definitely be checking out all the other ones

I bought my parents a kit to make their own beeswax wraps - useful for wrapping up some of those treats to go into the fridge!

Quaagars · 11/01/2021 00:39

Have always loved candles, will definitely be getting some more of those.
Fresh flowers good shout too

Oooh another thought - if you’re a reader - many independent bookshops are doing subscription services where you tell them
Your interests and pay a flat fee and then each month/two months/whatever frequency you pay for you get a book delivered. We have done one through Daunt Books and the first book was an absolute hit, the surprise element is fun too and they allow exchanges if you’ve already read it/it’s not to your tastes

ZenNudist · 11/01/2021 01:02

Someone will be along in a second to complain that this is non essential and you should live off tripe and onions.

Oh Gawd I hope not, seen enough of those type of posts on here as it is lol

This is non-essential. You should be surviving on tripe and onions, once a week.

I was given tray bakes from the letterbox bakery for Christmas one year, they were great. Infact I think I'll order some now.
Also got DP brownies from gower cottage for Chris this year. He loved them.

We're still just ordering from Sainsbury's, but getting nicer versions of things, so expensive pasta, Taste the Difference chargrilled artichokes, etc. I haven't yet brought myself to shell out for Tony's Chocolonely though, should I?

Quaagars · 11/01/2021 01:32

the Ritual of Jing stuff from Rituals
Just googled that as hadn't heard of before, looks a great site.
Think I need the pillow mist!
Used pillow mist before several years ago, worked well so would like to try this one

Really good chocolate. Massive pile of books. Fluffy blanket, weighted blanket or electric throw according to your preference. Remote control led candles. Gorgeous notebooks and writing paper and a fountain pen with pretty ink. A print from an artist which makes your heart happy. My treats are small but wonderfully happymaking!
