Creative ideas to hide a fireplace?

I am private renting and the place is very old. There is an old mushroom-coloured tiled fireplace in one of the bedrooms that does not go with anything and doesn't actually do anything.

As I do not own the property I obviously can't remove it or paint it (if that's even a possibility) so looking for ways I can try and hide it.

Any ideas much appreciated!

Radiator cover? Does it have a hearth?

It has a hearth yes. I looked at radiator covers but I can't see any high/deep enough

Could you out a folding screen in front of it?

If it doesn't have a mantelpiece could you out a piece of furniture in front?
