What self care have you done this week?

Okay...so this week has been pretty difficult for many of us, and it's not looking like it'll be getting easier any time soon.
During the last lockdown my mental health was really poor, on maternity leave with my son and feeling massively isolated. I'm now back at work (frontline NHS) and feeling much better from a MH perspective, but when the lockdown was announced I knew I needed to do something for myself to keep feeling okay. So this week I have:
Gone to bed before 9pm once, left the house a tip and just went to bed. Felt bloody brilliant, even when ds woke for the day at 5am
Plucked my eyebrows. Okay this may sound ridiculous but little things like this make me feel like I'm taking care of myself and just generally better.
Joined a family film club. We all watch a film separately then tomorrow evening we are having a zoom call to discuss. Not our usual type of socialising but about as good as it gets for us all at the moment!

I thought we could use this thread to share inspiration of those small, sometimes silly, sometimes dull things that we have done for self care and maybe get some inspiration to try new forms of self care!
So what have you done this week?

Walk round the local park during my lunch break and I've started listening to the headspace podcast whilst I'm walking.
I've scheduled in some personal admin time to get on top of my budgets. Planning projects and some journalling.
Deep conditioning hair oil treatment.
Deleted Facebook
Started reading a book.

January has really kicked my arse into gear.

Made a massive batch of salad and ate it all over a few days.

Got outside daily with the kids.

In bed every night before 10am.

Had a bath with my two toddlers... then drained it and had a clean bubble bath by myself once they were asleep!

I had a face mask, ran a hot bubbly bath, full body scrub, purple shampoo, hair mask, body oil, shaved below my chin.
Waxed my eyebrows and lip, full fake tan. Felt a million dollars for the first time in forever

Walks daily, two of them to parts of the town I have never been to (pity the black and white cat did not want to greet me).
Three films including one about the later life of the painter Renoir.
Very nice mackerel one lunchtime.

Invested a bit of cash in magnesium cream to help me sleep better (perimenopause crap waking me up constantly atm.) Tried it last night and Sweet Jesus, it bloody works!!! Feel marvellous this morning 😁

I turned my bedroom back into the peaceful sanctuary it used to be! Banned my kids from using the bed as a gaming zone/charging station for all their tech, decluttered, got nicer bedding, organised my wardrobe... I feel better for doing it!

Had a bath and binged watched Netflix. I’m also using my Christmas toiletries and appreciating them!

Literally my day yesterday. Except I did a wee bit of yoga too for my MH

That sounds amazing! Enjoy your sanctuary!

Great idea for a thread!

I've done none this week. I've been in survival mode with the dc & homeschooling & 've got a chest infection on top. Dh has done the lions share but it doesn't stop the endless things going round in my mind Sad

My plan, when I'm feeling better, is to get out for a half hour walk or run each evening. Either when the dc are winding down for bed or just after they've gone to bed (it'll start as walks as my asthma is always really bad just after a chest infection). I also want to get back to doing 10/15 min yoga morning & evening.

Tomorrow I'm going to have a shower as soon as I wake up, it always make me feel ready for the day & put on actual clothes rather than leggings & a long top (because I've not got to go out) &, inspired by pp, put on perfume.
