Almost 10 days in... how are your resolutions holding up?

Genuinely interested how others are doing, especially with a view to lockdown.

Dry Jan - 9 days in and the craving is fading. I used to use it as a stress relief, but any hot drink seems to do the job just as well.

Caffeine withdrawal - headaches have gone and by now not having any is making no difference to my getting up in the mornings or general levels of tiredness. I have bought a SAD lamp, which seems to be doing its job well.

Weightloss - maybe 1lb, which is disappointing, given that both the above were what had me put the lbs on last year.

Exercise - around 20min a day, cardio and weights. I do it most days, but work and family commitments do get in the way.

Work - had to take yet another backseat due to coping with my normal teaching load and having my primary-aged kids home, too. That promotion will have to wait. Again.

Organisation - Despite all of us at home the house is not a complete shit-tip and I am slowly decluttering with at least 1 item most days. Too slow for my taste, but then, time.

So, how is everyone else doing? Anyone struggling or who has smashed it?

RED January and 30 days of Yoga With Adriene still going strong Grin

WiseOwlRelaxing · 09/01/2021 19:19

I've done yoga 8 days out of the 9 but one of my resolutions is to go easier on myself. I always make a lot of rules for myself and feel a failure if I don't comply with my own rules!

So by taking one day off and not considering it a failure but considering it my new more compassionate less demanding inner voice, I'm doing well. Wine

RED January I have run every day and really pleased.

Snowdrop30 · 09/01/2021 20:01

Still Dry Jan here, experimenting with nice non-alcoholic drinks!

lastqueenofscotland · 09/01/2021 20:03

I’ve run every day.
Have not cried about work.
Have read every day

Have not done much yoga

Still dry here and have lost 2.5kg by counting calories and exercising (think the first 1.5kg was water retention from Christmas alcohol Blush). I'm finding lockdown is making it easier than before if I'm honest as can make healthier food and don't have to avoid socialising to not drink and eat crap.

Mine were to up my running distance, I was running 5kms and want to do my first 10km by the end of january. I managed a 6k. And 7km. Heavy snow here has made it super tough but I'm hoping to get out for a long run tomorrow.

My other one was to switch to reusable sanitary products, period due next week and moon cup at the ready

Good. Diet is going well though I’m dieting to help with the pain in my hips so I’m more dedicated than before.

I set myself a target of 25 books this year. May up that as I have already read 3 since the 1st of jan.

Exercises is not going well. As I’m supposed to go swimming for my hips which helps but the gym is closed.
My last one was to make more of an effort. And I have worn makeup everyday I have been at work.
So all in all doing well.

KindergartenKop · 09/01/2021 23:10

I've done a bit of running.
I've not eaten heaps of shite.
My targets aren't very strict!
