I'm losing so much hair

Every day now for a month I'm losing so much hair. I wash it and clog the drain. I brush it and the brush is covered. I'm going to have to make a doctor's appointment which I know they'll think they have more important things on but I'm so upset.

I'm 42 in good health as far as I know. Any ideas as to what is going on? Can anyone reassure me that it could grow back?

Two things that I personally know have caused hair loss like this :

Stress
Lactose ntolerance. Once dairy was cut out of my dds diet, it hair loss stopped.

Could it be either of these maybe?

Stress is definitely a possibility work is challenging and well we're in a pandemic. Covid hasn't particularly bothered me but over the last few months I am definitely feeling down and less positive. I think it's because it seems never ending.

Glad to hear it grew back once you'd identified the problem @isthismylifenow I'm worried I'm going to end up completely bald.

Vitamin deficiency can be a reason, worth getting your levels checked.

I had a low vitamin D and folic acid intake. Started taking supplements and all back to normal within a couple of months.
