I’m in a pickle. I’ve been driving for over 20 years and this has never cropped up before. But I am currently trying to place an order for a new Motability car and the dealer is not getting the application approved.
The issue is my driving licence is in a shortened version of my name, where as my passport and DWP documents are in my full name - think Kath and Katherine. I don’t understand how the last Motability went through, but nevertheless I now have to change to driving licence to my full name.
Can anyone advise how long this is currently taking please (website suggests longer than usual time of 3 weeks), and also (more importantly!) can I download and print out a copy of the D1 form to send to DVLA rather than collecting one from a post office? I can change address online, but not name as that has to be done via post.
