Evening all.

My daughter’s dad has text me today to say a friend he was around at the weekend (just gone) has tested positive for covid and do I still want our daughter to see him.

Im just looking for advice on what to do? Is she ok to see him. The person in question tested positive after the weekend so I’m assuming possibly Monday or Tuesday. He says he’s symptomless but I appreciate even people with covid have been symptomless.

Thank you

Presumably he's now self-isolating so no, I wouldn't send her.

@valentinoandme I believe so.

Thank you for your reply.

Definitely do not send her

The NHS advice is not to have any family or friends in your home if you are in contact with someone who has tested positive.

If he's contacted by test and trace then it becomes law.

absolutely NOT - why are you even considering it?

@quarks I was more asking for info on the matter.

Of course she shouldn't see him (f2f). He ought to be isolating and not seeing anyone.
Presumably you can facilitate some sort of video call ?

Bodgedboxdye · 08/01/2021 23:51

@RedMarauder I don’t believe it was test and trace, I think said person has directly contacted him.

I was asking more due to my daughter missing her dad and knowing she’d be disappointed in not seeing him. I was probably being a little cowardly in not telling my daughter she wasn’t able to see her dad and instead came here instead.

Just to clarify, I won’t send her. He’s had to self isolate previously and I had her stay away so I’m not sure where my mind was this time. /:
