Do you know anyone who has had a second dose of vaccine?

Amazingly 93 year old MIL got second dose yesterday but I think that she is one of the lucky ones who somehow slipped through the net.

The government keep giving us the good news about the rollout but I worry about them managing logistics of second jabs as well.

I know someone who was having it today.

Chasingsquirrels · 08/01/2021 22:19

My mum knows a few in her village.

letsdolunch321 · 08/01/2021 22:19

Yes, my in-laws aged 86 had the 2nd jab yesterday

AnneLovesGilbert · 08/01/2021 22:20

Yes. DB who is in his 30s, chronic health condition and a frontline worker in the NHS.

onelittleclara · 08/01/2021 22:20

My dad had his yesterday.

BendingSpoons · 08/01/2021 22:21

My grandparents have had their second dose cancelled. It was booked for tomorrow. A medic friend has had 2 doses.

alyaster1 · 08/01/2021 22:21

My parents in law, both 83 had their second one yesterday as did my Dad who is 87. First time my mum aged 79 has resented being younger than them!

Hoohaahoo · 08/01/2021 22:22

I know quite a few nurses who have had theirs. They’ve had some side effects but nothing major so far

listsandbudgets · 08/01/2021 22:23

Oh this is much more positive than I expected Smile

I had mine today. The whole day was 2nd appointments. GPs in my area refused to cancel the second vaccines this week due to lack of notice

TheSimpleThings17 · 08/01/2021 22:26

My mum (80) had her second one on Wednesday - my Dad (they are divorced) had his second one cancelled on Monday which is a shame as he is the one more at risk. He’s not been told when to expect his second. My mum was all smiles when I went to drop her groceries off yesterday!

QueenOfTheDoubleWide · 08/01/2021 22:27

I think those due second doses this week were all done but these are the last and any due after this week will be delayed.

ChristmasinJune · 08/01/2021 22:28

Yes, two different fb friends in their very early 80's posted to say they've had their second dose.

WillowSummerSloth · 08/01/2021 22:30

Me. I'm a doctor and our trust agreed to honour the 2 doses. Had 2nd dose today.

ConfusedDotty · 08/01/2021 22:31

Yes. My next door neighbour. She's a community nurse for the NHS.

PollyPorcupine · 08/01/2021 22:31

Yes, three frontline NHS workers this week.

ProudAuntie76 · 08/01/2021 22:33

I had my first this week with some colleagues. Everyone else in the waiting room was on their second. The vaccinators seemed shocked that we were only on our first. We were informed that they didn’t know when we’d get our second.

And of course Boris Johnson’s father somehow hasn’t had his second dose cancelled Hmm.

DrFoxtrot · 08/01/2021 22:33

We were told in an email today - copy and pasted - but it is made fully clear by NHSE now ITS UNACCEPTABLE TO GIVE BEFORE 12W, THEY WILL BE MONITORING PRACTICES WHO ARE NOT FOLLOWING THOSE ORDERS

So I've no idea how those giving the second doses are going to answer to NHSE?

MrsMiaWallis · 08/01/2021 22:34

Yes. A few actually. Today and yesterday.

SallyOMalley · 08/01/2021 22:36

Yep, the elderly father of a friend of mine. He's in W Yorks.

Smidge001 · 08/01/2021 22:44

Yes, my 84yr old father had his 2nd dose today, as did his similarly aged neighbour (from a different doctors surgery) . And my boss says his father got his second dose yesterday (completely different area) . So that's 3, all who received it the specified 3wks after the first dose. (which I wholeheartedly agree with for the Pfizer vaccine that was tested that way).

itbemay1 · 08/01/2021 22:46

Yes. Several today
