I think my body runs low in salt

I’m wondering if I need more salt than other people. I have noticed for a while that extra salty food helps cure my headaches/migraines, and recently I’ve been suffering from dizziness every time I bend down low. Googling, I’ve self-diagnosed 😝 low blood pressure, and advice for high blood pressure is to cut down on salt. So, adding 2 and 2 together and getting 9, anyone else the same, or would like to diagnose me with any other deficiency?

If you drink a lot of water it can knock your electrolytes out of whack. When I did a low carb diet I felt like shite until I started taking a magnesium supplement and adding salt and potassium to my food. It made such a difference.

That’s interesting SusannaSpider I don’t think it would hurt to up my salt for a short while, I don’t really add salt to anything but chips, not when cooking from scratch or anything. And I do drink a lot of water which may flush what I do have out!

She was also told to drink more fluids, not sure if that was because she'd been told to up her salt or that more fluids would help with her fainting. She's a pain though and will only drink bottled water.

Really interesting - my BO is generally in the low side and I crave salty things. Never crave sweets or chocolates but am eating far too much Parmesan at the moment and crisps.

Have you tired taking sports electrolytes? I felt exactly like this (since I started running a fair bit), you can get some dissolvable tablets to put in water form Tesco / Amazon or whatever. They taste quite nice too so help keep up water intake.

I have one or two day and feel loads better.
