Keepsake for 18th birthday

DS is 18 in February and although he has a wish list of tech he’d appreciate, I’d love to get him a keepsake.

Anyone have ideas other than a watch?

I think for our ds's 18th we got him some hardwear for his pc, but for his 21st we got him some tickets to see Tim Minchin.
My ed also got tickets for her 21st, to see the Greenday stage show.

If he doesn't want keepsakes, an experience-type present such as longtompot suggests would be a good idea.

It's easier for girls as you can give a good piece of jewellery they can wear and keep.

Bottle opener or corkscrew - Georg Jensen or Alessi (I got the Alessi parrot for my godson)

If not superstitious a set of good chef type knives.
They will last for years, if he's going to uni will be great for food prep you are much less likely to injure yourself with good knives than with cheap blunt ones.
