Hi i have a son who is 9 he is thought to have dyslexia. The school are doing everything they can to make sure he has the help he needs i have noticed a big difference in his learning before lockdown and COVID he was doing really well now i just feel like he has been knocked back i try do as much work as i can with him at home but it is not easy at all i have to juggle this around work. It is a struggle to get him to want to do the work as well sometimes it leaves him very angry as soon as i mention the work i try make it as fun as possible for him so it is not to stressful and he does enjoy it once he is doing it i think its just the thought of it. On the mental health side of things i have noticed he get really angry easily and speaks about death a lot. We had to have the family dog put down last year due to old age my son was very close to the dog. I think this has made him aware that people and animals don’t live for ever. He even asked me once when am i going to the grave i did not know how to answer so i replied with not for a long time and you don't have to worry about that now (don't know if that was the right answer). He has been lashing out a lot also with other kids he was going through a stage of some of the older kids in the street bullying him so I’m not sure if this has a part to play with his anger. I know i need to get help for him but i just don't know where to start so i came here for advice if someone is or have experienced the same thing?
