Starting a recipe blog

I know there's several, I am just after some opinions. I am currently doing an accredited course in culinary medicine and have improved my own health by cleaning up my diet (largely due to allergies, but also an auto-immune disorder and my recipes are mainly focused on brain and emotional health too). I was wondering if people look for recipes do they prefer instagram (nice for photos, but hard for text I feel), facebook, pinterest or an actual website/blog?

Also - names - I cannot use my real name (as I want to talk about my diagnosis and I am not really open about it all yet), what is the format of names you like - should I create a fake person's name or go with something that's just verbs/nouns and no person's name?

Has anyone done this before? I am not looking to make money, just share ideas, good food and kill some lockdown boredom!

I would create your own website with a complimentary Instagram to further your reach. You can link to the website page for each Instagram post.

I would not use a fake person's name. It seems a bit disingenuous.

I use insta to follow some people. When they post a pic they link it to their website so I can click through and get the recipe.

Thank you - Ok, so something to consider re. the fake person's name - that's correct. I doubt it's ever going to get big but I believe you are correct on that.

Call yourself "healthy aprons" or, a better thing! But then refer to yourself in the third person,
"Here at 'healthy aprons' we like to use lard.."

Then no need for a fake name.

Think that is a better approach now... just need to come up with a name!!

Looking at websites, things have changed since I did the last one...

Brain Foodie comes to mind. I love thinking up names for businesses, haha. Grin

Brain Foodie handle has gone across platforms it seems (but I love it!)

I am totally lacking inspiration today!
