Do you have a chocolate fondue that doesn't burn the chocolate?

I've decided against a chocolate fondue on the basis of the mess, unreliability and sheer size of them. I'd like to buy a chocolate fondue for DS' birthday next week - only a handful of us would be using it, so it doesn't need to be enormous.

Most seem to be fueled by meths or gel fuel, rather than mains.

What I cannot work out is how you'd stop the chocolate from burning - does anyone have one that works well that you would recommend please? We will be dipping fruit and marchmallows.

I have a small fondue set I’ve had for years. I’ve used it for choc fondues, cheese fondues etc and ever burnt the contents. It uses a small alcohol impregnated burner.

However you could use a small Pyrex bowl and melt the chocolate and cream over a pot of simmering water or a water bath, then keep warm with a night light or similar
