Is this safe to eat?

Fresh pesto bought last week with 'Use by' date 05/01 ie yesterday. Unopened so far and kept in fridge. Will it still be safe to eat for lunch today? Thanks

Totally safe - it hasn't even been opened

I would. Unless it looked/smelt odd when opened.

Thanks, I thought so too but OH saying "I wouldn't risk it". I'm guessing worst case scenario I get a funny tummy. Seems a waste to throw it out. Will give it a go.
