Help! Need to buy my 8 year old a cheap tablet for homeschool. Don't know what is best. Please help

Hi there. We need another device to help my dc with homeschool. I don't know the difference between an amazon fire kindle, a tablet or an iPad. Budget about 120.
I had been looking at a Samsung Tablet 8 inch. Please advise on the different types before I purchase. Thanks

Lenovo is a make worth looking at,they have a Best Buy on Which.

Personally I like iPads as I find them easy to use although Samsung’s are popular.

Do ipads have the same features & would they be as good for homeschool work?

I would check with the school, we have an iPad but my sons school work is on an app which is not iOS compatible (which is a bit ridiculous in this day and age but anyway...) so we are having to get an android device.

We have a Samsung that DD does her homeschooling on. We used to have a Lenovo earlier, but the screen of the Samsung is much more responsive. The Lenovo is certainly sturdy though, it's over six years old and still going strong. The only reason we had to buy a new one was that the software was too old to support Zoom. Either brand would be a good option. A larger screen is good for school.

This is the one, it's the cheapest we could locate. Mainly for zoom & seesaw. Dd is in P4 so I don't think she would need anything fancier?

I'm sure that the newer Lenovo models would be fine with Zoom. The problem with our old tablet was that the version of Android on it was too old to support Zoom. The newer ones should have the latest version of Android.

I would suggest looking and thinking of also getting a stand and possibly a keyboard. Then it can sit like a laptop that is easier when they need to type.

Also it's better for them to have the screen upright when then watch videos etc (posture wise)

I would go for a refurbished iPad on eBay, I know that might sound dodgy, but I think they all have long guarantees. I saw pp post about an android only app, I'd ask the school and ask what you need. I don't know anything about Lenovo but sure that's fine too.

Have you asked your school? Our school has asked us to message if we need to borrow a device for home learning. A lot of cheap tablets are crap, and I agree with the comment about getting a refurbed iPad. I would see what your school can offer first.
