So while my landlord stayed safe in France during lockdown, we tended his farm and there was an agreement not to pay rent if we stayed to do so, as I'd lost my job. He returned after almost 6 months later, presented me with an invoice for all arrears. Anyway, applied for social housing, 6 months later, I got thrown off the list as I had arrears (which I declared). They have offered temporary accommodation which is miles away and quite a dreadful area. We have days to leave! My parents house is currently under offer. My siblings have refused us to live there (they left me to care for mum and dad from 60 miles away, whilst they live local only showing up once money was involved). Anyway, I feel we have no choice but to move into my parents house, change the locks (reimbursing current potential owners, although I'm aware it may leave them in an awful position). It's myself and 3 children, their dad is not reliable. I will be crossing counties to go back to my home town where we have friends for support and it's what we need right now more than anything but my previous council have said this would be voluntary homelessness and they wouldn't offer me anything either. Surely my parents house is safer than an area we don't know, more temporary than my parents and miles away from school anyway (when they go back). My question is... How do I manage to find a long term home. What's the best thing to do?! I'm going round in circles, hitting dead ends and tragically unable to think straight or come to any kind of conclusion!!! Please help. Is anyone here anything to do with housing or legal? Many, many thanks
