One can never have too many bags, shoes/boots/other footwear, coats or items of jewellery.

I do have too many Christmas decorations. And too many lipsticks that don’t quite suit my colouring or my lips (went through a phase of ordering online and have learnt my lesson now).

AlwaysLatte · 05/01/2021 19:37

Booze! We bought lots of wine and spirits back when we'd hoped my adult stepsons and partners could come to us and of course they couldn't. We got quite a lot of bottles of gin and brandy given to us for Christmas as well and we've now cut our consumption right down as well. I reckon it will keep us going for a couple of years or more!

@Plussizejumpsuit

It's just me and my kids (7 and 9) but we play games 3 nights a week or so usually. Good family fun without any screen!
Before covid, I had game nights with other adults though!

Some favourites are Yamatai, Above and Below (and the sequel Near and Far), Small World (plus the expansion Small World Islands but you cant find that anywhere now), Champions of Midgard, Terraforming Mars, Clank, Aeon's End. Those are the favourites we've played over the last few months; we tend to abandon them for a few months ans play others a few times then go back around or get new ones!

EwwSprouts · 05/01/2021 19:43

Wool jumpers. I don't like polyester, viscose, fleece etc so if I see a nice one at a good price I tend to impulse buy.

EveningOverRooftops · 05/01/2021 19:44

Drawing implements (pens, pencils, coloured pencils, pastel pencils, watercolour pencils, acrylic markers, alcohol markers etc) approx 1000

Sketchbooks. I don’t need to buy any for a year or two. Depends how much drawing I do.

Screws. I keep all the little baggies that come with stuff to fix it to the walls etc but inevitably end up using the screws I’ve purchased because they’re not shite. Keep meaning to take the crap ones to the scrap place.

Games consoles. I collect retro ones. Old games are good games.

Purchased art. Small prints and what not. I guess it makes me a collector now.

My own art. 100s upon 100s of drawings and paintings. I should catalogue them for a laugh.

AlessandroVasectomi · 05/01/2021 19:45

Cutlery. My wife had a set before we married, we started our own set when we got married and when my parents died we inherited their everyday set. Some of it never sees the outside of the cutlery drawer!

Oh - and socks. I tend to buy them in packs of 6 pairs and stock up before the existing ones wear out. The more you have, the longer you can go between washing them. Useful on extended holidays, but the old suitcase whiffs a bit by the time you get back home. Nice.

Blondiney · 05/01/2021 19:46

Perfume, I have an obscene number of bottles.

SquirrelFan · 05/01/2021 19:48

Why is my house so full? I don't have ridiculous amounts of anything... Maybe one or two more than necessary of everything

Longdistance · 05/01/2021 19:48

High heeled shoes. I’m 5’10” and I broke my leg six years ago that needed surgery. I can only wear heels for an hour before I have to take them off Blush

Puffykins · 05/01/2021 19:48

Art. I have totally run out of walls and paintings are stacked all over the place.
Also books. They inexplicably multiply....
Then occasionally I get really into something in particular, search Ebay for it, bid on multiples and then accidentally win them all. Recent examples include Wedgewood Jasparware, and the plastic reproduction Wedgewood made by Dialene Better Made, and then also Russian folk art tiles.

JustAnotherUserinParadise · 05/01/2021 19:50

Haha this is funny!

Mine are bits of wood - Garage is full of offcuts that "might be useful some day".
and knitting needles - got my great grant's stash when she died, plus a load from a friend, and a few that I actually bought! Must have hundreds of pairs, crochet hooks (can't crochet), circular ones.... But somehow never the size I need!

chocolatepowder · 05/01/2021 19:50

Apparently everything.

Pluckedpencil · 05/01/2021 19:51

Hats. We get given a lot of hand me downs from friends and at the last count DD had a rainbow of 30 different woollen hats!
And wool. Which is sad because I love to crochet but can't justify making her a hat!!
