Another teen DD’s lockdown Birthday to get through...help!!

My eldest DD turns 14 in a few weeks and out of all my DC she is not only the one that looks forward to her birthday the most but also the one that has struggled most with the last year. Her dad is also currently away due to being in the forces.

I’ve came up with the idea of a circus themed party for her and all my other DC as seems to be quite a few places that are doing cool circus party ware and decoration. She is also very theatrical and does music, acting etc.

However as she is also turning the ripe old age of 14 I really don’t want to make it lame...

So far I have came up with hotdogs (she is vegetarian and vegi hotdogs are expensive so this is actually quite a good treat for her!!) pop corn
Hook a duck etc however I’d really love to go down the weird and wonder circus route with games/activities etc but I’m struggling to come up with anything...

Does anyone have any ideas about how I can make it a fun, special day where she’s feels like she’s being made a fuss off but also cool enough she wants to join in

(p.s she has requested a surprise theme.)

You could make it fancy dress, so something like clown costumes. That might not be seen as cool though!
Custard pies for throwing.
I know there are a lot of Escape Room type things online, so maybe see if there is one with a circus theme?

Could you give her a pampering session? Have some vouchers made up and she chooses one, has her nails done, chooses another, has her toes done, then her hair, that kind of thing?

Maybe do some baking with her.

My two have had 18th and 21st in lock down, soooo gutted that they've not been able to have parties, go out with friends and holiday like we planned. But hey ho, got to make the best of a bad situation.

@ 2me2u2u2me ordinarily I think she would have loved those suggestions but just feel with last lockdowns and her dad away for Christmas and me trying to make the most of it we have done girly spas, baking session to death...

And said she wants something “a bit different and out there!!”

😬🤯😱😂

Second thing escape room. Send invites to her friends attached to a gift or balloon or something. Also get one of those video messages from a celeb done. Some aren't too much money and would be a laugh!
