Am in the clear (Covid)

Hi all

Have been very very cautious and sticking to rules.

Met a friend on 24th for an isolated walk. They just texted me to say they tested positive end of last week.

I haven’t been out since Christmas Day but can anyone help me understand this? Could I still develop symptoms (assume could have and just asymptomatic) how long do I need to isolate?

Please be kind am confused about timings

Were you in contact in the 48 hours before they got symptoms? If not then you wouldn't be counted as a close contact and dont need to isolate at all
