Advice on test after mc

Hi all,

I had a complete MC 5 weeks ago. Confirmed by EPAC. However, I have tested today with 1st response and an internet cheapie and they’ve come back really strong.

Is this normal 5 weeks after a MC? I expected a faint positive but not a dark line. I’ve attached photos so you can see them.

Thanks all.

There are no photos attached OP Smile

Did you test before the 5week mark? To get a negative? This may just be a new pregnancy.

@Dogsandbabies sorry I thought I had 🙄 will attach now. I didn’t test beforehand as I knew they would be positive so wanted to wait the recommended 4/5 weeks by the doctor.

I know it could be retained products too but I’m not sure what way it would appear on the test. Whether it would be faint or strong.

Complete guess but it looks like a new pregnancy to me. I have had two miscarriages before and in the one case where I had retained tissue I had prolonged bleeding and was feeling unwell.

Maybe give your EPU a call and see if you can arrange an early scan.

@Dogsandbabies thank you for getting back to me.

I’m so sorry to hear about your losses. This was my 2nd also. I had a D&C with the first one so was expecting the same with this.

I will ring the EPU for advice. I remember asking her if there was anything there in regards to retained products and she assured me everything was clear.

Hoping it’s a new pregnancy but doubtful this quick 😢
