She doesn't have to agree. She will though, she (and the FM of Wales) are keen to do more and have harder lockdowns than England.

Iwonder777 · 04/01/2021 07:43

Ah ok.

She's reportedly doing her press conference at 2pm today.

I wonder if there's a time for Boris yet?

Given that she always likes to be seen as stricter and harder than Boris she might as well have us all shot and be done with it.

Oreservoir · 04/01/2021 07:53

Nicola Sturgeon will do anything to outshine Westminster. Not difficult atm.

She will do what she believes is the best for Scotland as that is her job. Don’t be listening to the nonsense above.Boris doesn’t give two fucks about the people in Scotland.

He doesn’t care much about the people in England either.
MrsAmaretto · 04/01/2021 08:43

We’ve been living with tougher measures than England for months now. Since Christmas it’s felt like the March lockdown for us.

It boggles my mind that England was allowing 6 households at a time to mix, hardly a surprise that the virus spread.

PARunnerGirl · 04/01/2021 08:45

The Scottish Government runs the country in relation to matters that are devolved from Westminster. Health is “devolved” in Scotland which means the Scottish government can make its own decisions independent of Westminster.

Other similar matters are justice and the environment. This is why, for example, you see Scots Law and a very different court system or the carbon free pledge.

Of course, there are lots of different logistics and other issues to consider when making devolved decisions (especially with Coronavirus) given the nations are so connected, physically and otherwise.

yankeedoodledandee · 04/01/2021 08:59

Sturgeon has never been better placed throughout this whole pandemic for her subtle 'independence' crap than she is today.

She announced schools not opening until 'as least' the 18th Jan before Christmas. England is literally falling apart minute by minute as schools keep announcing their closures and parents get thrown into great fuckery.

She is going to come out today and use Boris and his absolute lack of leadership to slap us with further closures and harder restrictions.

'Level 4 isn't working, we don't want to end up like them (England), we are superior, let's lockdown'

I can see it coming.

Back to eat my hat later if I'm wrong Grin

MrsAmaretto · 04/01/2021 09:05

@yankeedoodledandee I’m beginning to fear the schools will be closed until Easter. Though that would maybe backfire as there’s no way I’m staying in my house for the Easter holidays too!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 04/01/2021 09:07

The pattern so far has been her announcing something strict, BJ bumble bumbles on for a couple of days, then he concedes and does what she did.

GintyMcGinty · 04/01/2021 09:08

She will do pretty much the same as Boris but with eloquence and a tear in her eye.

So we will all gush with gratitude whilst cursing Boris for. being evil and not caring.
