A good book to read aloud

I’m looking for a book to read aloud to my class. Something that will hold the attention with me doing it over video and something I won’t get bored of reading to them. Preferably with short chapters? Thanks in advance!

Not sure what upper ks2 is but my 8 year old loves any of the David walliams books

My 8 and 10 yr old grandsons are enjoying Kid Normal on zoom with me. You need to do accents though!

The Giggler Treatment by Rhoddy Doyle.

I was inYr4 when my teacher read this aloud to me and it stayed with me. I LOVED it. My DH says the same about when he read it. It's very funny, fast paced, and he short chapters.

Might be a bit young for them... But recent hits with my Yr3 child

  • The Highland Falcon Thief- first in a series called Adventures on Trains.
  • Atticus Claw... Unusually, a book that reads out loud smoothly... Except the name of the main character (Atticus Grammaticus Cattypus Claw)
