Non blanching spots on 3mo legs

Hi there!

My 3mo was in hospital about a month ago due to me seeing a few non blanching spots i noticed on her leg. The dr wanted to keep her in overnight to do bloods, tests ect to make sure it was nothing sinsiter (first time mum i was thinking the worst). Results came back fine and was told it was just viral.

They sent us for more blood tests a few weeks later and these all came back normal too.

Last night i noticed spots on her leg again there is only a few, could this be the same issue (viral)? She is her normal self and no other symptoms.
Any advice would be appreciated😊
Will try and attach photos

Are they petechia spots, which are quite common in young babies and don’t blanche. Can often be caused by crying, separation anxiety etc

RaffertyBear · 03/01/2021 13:38

It could be many things, your best bet is to call 111 and get an OOH GP appointment, especially as she is so young.

Petechia are also quite often caused by a virus.

@Nearlyadoctor
Yes but not as dark. And there is literally just a few. She had her 12 week vaccines on Thursday and when they kept her in overnight in hospital she had her first set of vaccines 5 days before. Could it be related to that possibly?

She's teething just now too so handsome always in the mouth ect.

We have the HV coming out on Wednesday so will say to her also.

If you are at all concerned then as PP said ring 111/GP, my specialty is Ophthalmology so not my field at all but Dd used to get them a lot.

My feeling is always that since I’m not a doctor I would rather get medical advice and get things checked than worry about it so I would call 111.

Should have said her blood test results only came back last Tuesday and everything was fine
