Wire Christmas lights

Argghhhhhh!!!!
2 lovely new set of wire Xmas lights used on the tree this year. DH seems to have taken them off the tree by pulling them. They are so tangled in to each other. Think I’ve been at it about 45 mins and got one set detangled & rolled up. Still another set to go. What have I done to deserve this?!
The sad thing is that they looked really nice on the tree so I do want them sorted - and will take them off ‘properly’ next year!

I’ve had to eat a fancy truffle chocolate to give me the energy to tackle the last set.
Why are there some many wire lights around these days? The green plasticky cable ones were so much easier
