Pikler triangle: does anyone have one?

And if so, are they worth it? Considering one for our one year old (and five year old). But they are expensive! If you have one, how much does it get used?

Following as I keep looking at them with potential lockdown days stuck indoors ahead 😬 I'm also interested in how much of a pain in the arse they are to store etc!

Natsku · 02/01/2021 21:11

I have one, had it for nearly two years now and it gets used most days by both kids (nearly 3 year old and 9 year old)

Natsku · 02/01/2021 21:13

I have the modifiable one so can just straighten it and store it behind the sofa, though this christmas is the first time I've put it away

MyCatShopsAtAldi · 02/01/2021 21:25

@Natsku, thank you - sounds like it’s been worth the spend for you!

@Heyha - same thought process!Grin

Anyone else?

We got one for Christmas and LO likes having it up. We got the slide attachment. Ours folds flat ish

Florencenotflo · 02/01/2021 21:52

I'd never heard of them. But now I want one... for the kids of course!

StopMakingATitOfUrselfNPissOff · 02/01/2021 22:30

I bought one plus a slide at the start of the first lockdown. It got used a lot. Mine are 4 and 2.
It gets less use now but definitely still useful to have. They enjoy pushing hot wheels down the slide as well as each other!
Ours folds flat and the slide detaches

shhsecretsquirrel · 02/01/2021 23:04

I got one for my DS when the second lockdown was announced. We got quite a large one and it folds flat so we can put it away every night, but he asks for it out every day. It also doubles as a den with a blanket over and a little pen he likes running in and out of. He's 16 months so I think it was well worth the money.

MyCatShopsAtAldi · 03/01/2021 10:17

@Florencenotflo, I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t checked the weight limit.Grin

Thanks, all - sounds like it might be worth it!

I agree, thanks for starting the thread @MyCatShopsAtAldi I think I might join you!

We got one for our kid's 3rd birthday at the end of 2019 and we used it absolutely loads, especially in lockdown as were shielding. He doesn't use it much now as more into little figures but it was totally worth it for that time. Still get good use when it's chucking it down. We got a big one from an Etsy shop made abroad somewhere like Georgia? It folds down neatly and leans on a wall when not in use.

Having decided to reduce DD's nursery as much as possible as looks like I'll be WFH a lot now, and with Bojo being on the telly tonight, I've just panic-bought one from Etsy...I never panic bought anything throughout the pandemic til today 😂 I'll report back in due course!

Laurabhspt · 25/01/2021 08:06

@Heyha has it arrived yet? I’ve been debating it for last few days!! Eager to hear your response!

Marmite27 · 25/01/2021 08:14

I considered one, but ultimately decided they were too expensive for the brief period it would be used.

We ultimately went for a Quadro climbing pyramid. It’s proved to be the right option. We also got some panels. What I loved was a report saying that someone had found an old 40 year old set in the loft and it fit perfectly with the new stuff as they haven’t changed the dimensions.

Marmite27 · 25/01/2021 08:16

They were 2 and 4 when we bought the quadro and already too old for the pikler. A friend has one and they really were too restricted and bored by it.

Laurabhspt · 25/01/2021 09:07

Where do you buy the pyramids from - I’m open to looking at all these types of things. Some people say the piklers with attachments last up until 6 so wasn’t sure :-) thanks for the input

Ah yes it has, arrived last week! So far so good although it's the slide/ramp that's getting the most use at the moment, she will climb to the top and sit on it to watch the world go buy though. And she gets engrossed in it every time I put it up so hopefully it's not going to be one of those things that gets ditched when the novelty wears off. I got mine from Etsy, beware though lots of the top rated ones aren't UK based so the shipping etc fees have skyrocketed now

Laurabhspt · 30/01/2021 13:40

@Heyha I ordered one! How long did yours take to come if you don’t mind me asking?

MNnicknameforCVthreads · 30/01/2021 13:47

Gutted I don’t have kids the right age for one of these, looks awesome!!

Heyha · 30/01/2021 21:19

I'll check my Etsy account but it was about a week earlier than predicted (UK maker, plain triangle and double sided ramp). I'm still really pleased with it 😊 it's been a slide for toys today!

Heyha · 30/01/2021 21:21

Dispatched 10 days after I paid and arrived with DPD the next morning

Laurabhspt · 30/01/2021 22:33

Wow! That’s great. Thanks :-)
