Can anyone recommend a short exercise regime for a non-exerciser?!

I am completely unfit and don't know where to start! Are there any good all-round shortish routines you'd recommend? I will be doing it at home with limited space and no equipment!

Thank you:)

Not an expert but all the PE with Joe videos are still up on YouTube and they can be done at home with no equipment. Would get you moving for half an hour a day!

I am about to start Lucy Wyndham Read on YouTube. Lots of short workouts and a lot of people suggested she was a good place to start and you can build up.

Am combining with a daily walk with dh (who is a foot taller than me so a stroll with him is like a light jog for me) plus the new Adrienne 30 days of yoga.

Nothing too hardcore so not like my usual annual regime that sees me hangry and injured by the 6th.

Level 1 of 30 day shred by Jillian Michaels. You will need a sports bra and ideally some hand weights, but could use bottles of water until you’re sure you want to commit

Thank you so much both, will check them out. Good luck @funtimefrank :)

Couch to Fitness 9 week program 3 times a week. It is from the Ourparks team. On utube or register on their website. I am 1/2 way through, quite tough in some places but they have 3 levels so you can choose qhich one suits you.

Lesley Samson on YouTube for walking workouts. They're really good if you haven't done anything before. You can even do them on the spot.

I did Jillian Michaels 30day shred in first lockdown, but the beginners one.
It worked, its really good, as I got fitter I tried the "regular" version and couldnt stick to it. Too much jumping.

anniemouse · 02/01/2021 15:05

Love Jillian Michaels but there is a lot of jumping. I got a mini trampoline and I found that really helped.

I found the key to getting fit is finding out what you like doing. E.g. So many swear by Couchto5K, jogging or HIIT but I hate it. However, I do like doing yoga and barre so I am more likely to keep up a regime if I am doing these type of workouts

Perhaps try a few different types of workouts on Youtube and find out what you enjoy.

Yoga with Adrienne 30 day programme

I’m also doing the Lesley Samsone walking videos.
I love them, they make you feel happy rather than it being a chore.
I tried couch to fitness and found it boring. I gave up by the 3rd workout. I’ve done Gillian Michaels before too and it’s really effective. It’s hard to keep doing the same video though so I find I can’t keep it up
