I'm having my usual silent cuppa, in the kitchen, while everyone else is still sleeping.

There's washing to be done and some baking for packed lunches next week. And I have some boxes to go in the loft.

I need to send a couple of emails as well.

Dd2 wants to do the next pages of her scrap book and maybe something else from her Christmas/birthday presents so we'll do that. Dd1 wants me to show her how to print some music she's found on t'interweb. Their dad's going to Lidl to top up salad things.

Other than that, there isn't much to be done so I think I might do some crafting of my own.

What about you lot? :)

Taking down the Christmas decorations. Going to a walk. Hopefully ordering a new phone. We’re tier 4 but a low Tier 4 and I’m (selfishly?!) hoping the schools go back next week as I’m very bored of being at home already as is DD.

Sparklingbrook · 02/01/2021 09:35

Brace yourself for the excitement but here's my list-

Take top back to Next (too big-so that was unexpected)

Go to Garden Centre and choose something suitable for Mum's birthday. Drive to hers and shout at her from 2 metres and throw her the gift.

Package up and send Christmas presents to my one year old nephew who I wasn't able to see because his family ended up in Tier 4.

Try and make a start on two books I had for Christmas but house is a bit messy for relaxation at the moment.

dontgobaconmyheart · 02/01/2021 09:36

Morning! Sounds like a lovely homey and 'normal' day OP. I found that strangely comforting to read, so thanks.

I'm about to head off to hospital for a scan a bit nervous as we're in a tier 4 area with some very strained hospitals and I'm clinically vulnerable so feel antsy about being in them. Polishing up my best mask and getting on with it though!

After getting home and a good scrub I'll be baking some pecan caramel cookies and watching bridgerton to see what all the fuss is about.

Ellapaella · 02/01/2021 09:53

I took the decorations down yesterday - I was terribly sad and hormonal yesterday so determined to have a more upbeat day today.
Just having a cuppa as my DC have taken to sleeping in until 9.30 so it's still quiet.
We will take the dog to the beach shortly and maybe get some takeaway hot chocolates and coffee. This afternoon I'm going to get some flooring for my bathroom and downstairs loo and I need to choose a new sink for the loo as well.
Will finish Hogwarts Express lego with DC, probably have to play more chess with DS.
Do some piano practice then I'm meeting a friend for a run tonight.

InTheseUncertainTimes · 02/01/2021 09:58

Morning all. Nice normal plans some of you have. Brew
We're self-isolating, so sitting around at home.

I'm half-heartedly doing a course on Coursera, and should really get back to it today. That's really my one and only plan? Oh, and to cook some chilli. Too tired to try any home exercise, so not going to force it. I don't want to take the decorations down yet, as the lights are still cheering me up.

Stretchandsnap · 02/01/2021 09:58

Taking down the Christmas decorations, cleaning the house as it just feels dusty and muddy (from all the walks and muddy shoes) going to dunelm to pick up new bedding for DD1 that she bought herself with her Christmas money and hopefully a solo run later if I can wangle it

mum2jakie · 02/01/2021 10:00

We've all had a lovely lie in this morning. Not planning to do much at all! Laundry to sort out - exciting!

Pickypolly · 02/01/2021 10:00

Taking decs down,
Cleaning
Listing stuff on eBay
Changing the beds
Meal planning for next week
A bit of food shopping
Getting back to normal.

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 02/01/2021 10:02

Morning @lucysmam I'm currently chilling in bed with my ds (5) and having a cup of tea. I'll spring into action shortly and go for a run, home and shower and then I'll prep dinner (chicken curry). We need some food basics so DP has volunteered to brave the supermarket and I'll probably play with ds for a bit. I'm tempted to do some baking with him as he quite enjoys the measuring out. Going to bake wheaten bread as it's quick and easy and a crowd pleaser in our house plus I'll have smoked salmon with it for lunch. Decorations down and cleaning done this afternoon then dinner, bed for ds and I fancy an evening watching Bridgerton Smile

Nunyabusiness · 02/01/2021 10:03

Morning all!

I am doing a little life prep today - making some pies to pop into the freezer and a batch of soup for lunches for the week, ready for the chaos of 'back to usual'

Car insurance needs to be sorted out, so that's also on the agenda.

The kids are upstairs playing Lego and I've got a wash load in the machine, so all told I'm feeling a bit like I have my 'this girl can' hat on today - gonna get going in about ten minutes once I've finished my cup of tea and Mumsnet pootling

CherryRoulade · 02/01/2021 10:08

A quick dip when my husband is back from running dog.
He’s taking tree down.
I’m working on my website, accreditation and marketing, ready to go when my books are published at end of month.
Then walk dog again and meet son with his puppy.
Make a lasagne for supper.
Take up daughters trousers.
Check larder and complete supermarket order.
Nothing exciting, sadly.

Meruem · 02/01/2021 10:08

I have to go to the chemist and pick up some medication. I don’t drive so that will be my walk for the day. Change my bedding and have a tidy round. I got a needle felting kit for Christmas so going to have a go at that.

H1978 · 02/01/2021 10:17

Just put bedding on to wash and sat with a cup of tea and the borrowers on Netflix. Waiting for dcs to wake up so I can do some dusting and cleaning upstairs.

Making quesadillas for dinner later and a Tesco delivery in the afternoon but no other plans otherwise. Haven’t been out in three days but it’s freezing so prefer to stay in.

Lulu1919 · 02/01/2021 10:23

I'm sitting on the sofa with a coffee
I've 'de Christmased ' the house
The sun is shining so going to take a walk later..just locally as we are in T4
Simple pasta for dinner
And breathe !!!

Ninkanink · 02/01/2021 10:30

We’re in bed, having a coffee (I used to be quite vehemently against drinks in bed but I’ve seen the error of my ways!).

Yesterday I moved the Christmas Tree from the living room into the dining room because I want to keep it up til twelfth night but I needed to clear the bay window. Today I’m going to do a quick clean of the living room & the dining room, & put away a pile of clean laundry that’s been waiting over the Christmas period.

We’re going to bake bread rolls for the coming week, & later I’ll make a lamb curry.

Worriedandabitscared · 02/01/2021 10:31

I'm 36 weeks pregnant and full of a cold so I'm going to stay in bed and watch films all day with the dog and honestly just be lazy - I know that's not very mumsnet of me but I feel like I'm dying Sad

S0CKS · 02/01/2021 11:09

Have been for a little dog walk she was a little shit so didn't last too long.
Now we're enjoying some pan au chocolate and a large cup of tea.
I don't feel too good today so not planning on doing much more were in t4 so a potter around the house is about as exciting as it gets.

Valkadin · 02/01/2021 11:24

Laundry
Walk
Gaming
Watch an episode of The Crown
Make dinner with leftover roast lamb
Looking at finances with DH
Ring two of my sisters

BriocheBuns · 02/01/2021 11:30

Writing this while in bed with a nasty migraine, avoiding getting up because I don’t want to dive into my to do list!

Laundry
A shower
Clean bedroom
Go to Lidl for top up groceries

All in the wrong order 😁

mamaduckbone · 02/01/2021 13:27

I managed to drag myself out for a very chilly run this morning - glad I did as I'm feeling vaguely motivated as a result.

I've cleaned the bathroom and kitchen, dusted skirtings, wiped down paintwork and stripped our bed. We took the decorations down yesterday so it feels right to be cleaning and de-Christmassing.

Currently I'm making leek and potato soup whilst debating whether it's worth dragging the dcs out for a walk (T4 so that's the only option) or whether to leave them happy and festering.

Sarahandduck18 · 02/01/2021 13:30

Not getting out of bed other than going to the en suite.

tessiegirl · 02/01/2021 13:43

I made the most of almost my last lie in...
Dh and dd made her paw patrol looking tower and played sylvanian families.
They have gone for a walk and I am determined to make a start on planning lessons for next week and get marking done.

hotcrosswhat · 02/01/2021 13:50

I love these threads Smile

I've been on my exercise bike and made egg + beans on toast for DH and me. Next I need to do some stretches and Pilates then shower. Then putting the decorations away later and making dinner.

I'm 22 weeks pregnant and DH is painting our son's room. I struggle with my MH but today I'm feeling peaceful and cannot believe how lucky I am.

Ninkanink · 02/01/2021 13:56

This afternoon DH has put up a ceiling light/pendant in the hallway, and now he’s working on his current jigsaw puzzle. I’m having a cup of tea. In a little while I will phone my daughters for a chat.

Readitch · 02/01/2021 14:30

I've been very lazy today and spent most of it on the internet. I've messaged a few people and I was going to start on a job application but think I'll do that tomorrow. I also need to get up to speed on some training I'll be helping to deliver but, again, think I'll do it tomorrow.

I've put some washing in the machine, and some clothes in the dryer. I've unloaded the dishwasher and tidied the kitchen. But that's a bit like painting the Forth Bridge - everytime I go in there it needs tidying again!

Ds1 has taken the tree out the front ready for collection. Dd has taken the dog for a walk. Ds2 has been for his daily dip in the river (don't ask)! And ds3 is on the xbox.

Have a beef stroganoff prepped and ready for dinner.
