What time do you have your last coffee?

Just curious.

I cannot drink coffee after 2pm if I want to sleep by 10pm. I know other people who can drink it in the evening and still manage to sleep at a reasonable hour.

Do you have a coffee cut off time?

Same as you. My husband seems far less affected.

jendifer · 02/01/2021 08:21

About 4pm. I miss the days when I could drink coffee till later. I tend to have decaf now in the evening

DaysAreGettingLongerNow · 02/01/2021 08:22

6pm or earlier.

Before noon, any later feels reckless!

ExpensivelyDecorated · 02/01/2021 08:23

It got earlier and earlier till I switched entirely to decaff. I can't tolerate caffeinated at any time of day now.

HeronLanyon · 02/01/2021 08:25

Can’t drink it after around now 8am ish. Don’t have any caffeine during day/evening. Never have.
Now to tackle alcohol !

BertieBotts · 02/01/2021 08:29

It doesn't stop me from sleeping but it does make me wee loads so wouldn't drink right before bed. No cut off although I usually drink it first thing in the morning.

Whenwillow · 02/01/2021 08:31

I have one at 7am, then that's it for the day. I really enjoy that one though.
It's water or redbush tea for the rest of the day.

justanotherneighinparadise · 02/01/2021 08:32

Latest 2pm

Same here
BamboozledandBefuddled · 02/01/2021 08:33

2pm at the latest but usually around 12.30 when I have lunch. I used to drink decaf in the afternoon but cut my total coffee intake as low as possible once the hot flushes became really awful.

huuuuunnnndderrricks · 02/01/2021 08:34

Usually only drink it before lunch and decaff in the afternoon .

Snufkins · 02/01/2021 08:35

With lunch, 2 cups a day. I have been that way since pregnancy/maternity leave. I have decaf in the afternoon.

MazyT1978 · 02/01/2021 08:37

Doesn't seem to make any difference whatsoever for me, I normally have a coffee about 8:30 pm once my kids have gone to bed and I can chill and watch what I want on the tv !

MilkRunningOutAgain · 02/01/2021 08:38

While I don’t do this every day, as I don’t always feel like one, I’m quite happy to drink coffee until 10pm if I want it. No problems falling asleep or I wouldn’t do it.

whataballbag · 02/01/2021 08:38

I had a latte at 5:30pm last night and it was a fucking mistake let me tell you!

BiscuitTea · 02/01/2021 08:39

It never used to affect me but if I have more than one coffee a day now, I feel pissed! I can't drink alcohol now either!
It sucks to be me! Sad

StopSquirtingBleachOnCaneToads · 02/01/2021 08:40

I used to drink it until about 4 or 5 without any issues at all, but then I quit cold turkey whilst I was pregnant and ever since then I have found that caffeine really affects me. If I have any after lunchtime I can't sleep.

MrsJBaptiste · 02/01/2021 08:44

I generally have a cuppa (tea or coffee) at 10pm so an hour before I head to bed. Doesn't affect my sleep at all.

My DH likes very strong coffee and can't have any after midday as he then struggles to get to sleep that night!

NoGoodPunsLeft · 02/01/2021 08:44

About 1pm but my mum can drink tea all day and evening and sleeps like a baby. She must be immune!

ProudAuntie76 · 02/01/2021 08:46

3pm at very latest, usually much earlier! Have to be careful with tea, Coca Cola, Pepsi etc too.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 02/01/2021 08:47

I mostly don't drink it after 2pm, definitely not after 4pm. I struggle to go to sleep anyway, so don't need any extra issues.

However, drinking coffee doesn't seem to help me feel more alert if I need to be on fine form.

Lonelycrab · 02/01/2021 08:56

Around 2pm too.

EdwardCullensBiteOnTheSide · 02/01/2021 09:01

I can't drink coffee these days or it's instant migraine, but I always made sure not to have any after 12pm or it would affect my sleep. I still drink tea, but not after lunch. Dh always has a cup of tea before bed and sleeps like a baby.

Chemenger · 02/01/2021 09:05

I used to have a coffee before bed and sleep like a log but now I have one first thing in the morning, no later than 8am and no more. If I drink anything with caffeine during the evening I won’t sleep. Just another gift from the menopause. I really enjoy the odd Coca Cola but the insomnia just isn’t worth it.
