Anyone else loaded with the cold?

😩

Where did it come from?! I am barely out of the house. It’s a right stinker as well. I cannot breathe through my nose and my eyes just want to close.

Three year old is tantrumming up a storm.

Send help.

Same, bunged up nose, glands are up and my ears and sinuses hurt. Same every year for me. As soon as I stop working (and I really have gone full pelt this time) I get a cold. Trying to rest, get fresh air and eat lots of vegetables to combat it. What I really need is sleep, but my nose keeps whistling at night and it annoys me!

Hangingtrousers · 01/01/2021 10:38

My dd2 has a cold. Wtf.. we've not been anywhere since school finished.

MamaTookMyEyebrows · 01/01/2021 10:39

delilah same here. It’s like the moment you stop it’s upon you. I’m going to take the kids a walk today. If I can muster the energy to get them ready.

I had those exact symptoms turns out it was Covid....

SapatSea · 01/01/2021 11:53

We have one in our house - how?? we go for a walk once a day, no DC in school but H sometimes picks up milk or bread (or booze for himself). Can only think he's brought it home.

Alexandernevermind · 01/01/2021 11:54

I always think it's because we're indoors more this time of year- this year especially. Like our grandmother's always say - fresh air and exercise is the best cure.

Galvantula · 01/01/2021 13:01

My 8yo. We actually booked him a covid test after he complained about food tasting different, but it came back negative.

Crinkle77 · 01/01/2021 13:04

My sister and her family also had what they thought were colds which turned out to be Covid.

Mooey89 · 01/01/2021 13:15

Our work (NHS trust) have told us to be aware of any cold symptoms (we are tested twice weekly routinely) because 29 ward staff went down with Covid a couple of weeks ago and none of them had traditional Covid symptoms and all had colds/headaches/sore throats... 🙈😷

MamaTookMyEyebrows · 01/01/2021 13:16

It feels more like a sinus infection to be honest. I don’t have a headache or a sore throat. Just a blocked nose, I’m tired (but I struggled to sleep because of the blocked nose) and a bit spaced out.

Get a test if you need to go anywhere in the next 10 days

Timeturnerplease · 01/01/2021 13:21

Yep, DD2yo and I have got this. Came on too late to be me bringing it from school (primary teacher but last week of term was another isolation anyway due to covid in class). DD did go to nursery on the 23rd and cold came on Boxing Day so I’m thinking was that.

Get tested anyway, we have done. One of the isolations in my class last term started with a child with a runny nose testing positive.

CarolEffingBaskin · 01/01/2021 13:22

Don't be silly, colds don't exist anymore. Everything is Covid. You should absolutely get a pointless and fallible test.

Iamsodonewith2020 · 01/01/2021 13:34

My cold and sinusitis symptoms was in fact covid.

middleager · 01/01/2021 13:41

OP, please get tested and self isolate.

So many cases on here and IRL where people with colds and/or sinus issues have colds.

middleager · 01/01/2021 13:41

Sorry, I mean have Covid

starrynight19 · 01/01/2021 13:44

This is how I started with covid , cold and sinus symptoms.

Misty9 · 01/01/2021 13:44

Yep, I have had the cold from hell over Christmas. The contents of my head exited via my nose on Christmas day and then I had a sinusey pain/headache for a couple of days and generally feeling run down. I do the pcr test twice weekly so it's highly unlikely to be covid in my case. It's now migrated to my chest. My darling son gave it to us and he was ill for all of one day! Hmm

soundsystem · 01/01/2021 13:45

Yep, DD and I have this. Not COVID we've been tested twice (were in an area with loads of cases and being encouraged to test whether or not we have the 3 main symptoms).

Eating biscuits seems to help Grin

pinkcattydude · 01/01/2021 17:34

I put those symptoms into the COVID tracker (Zoe) app and although not standard symptoms I was invited in to get a test. Negative just a crappy cold and painful sinuses. Hopefully over soon,

weepingwillow22 · 01/01/2021 17:41

I have had a blocked nose and sneezing for a week and have also tested positive for covid. No other symptoms other than fatigue and initially a slight headache.

Designingheaven · 01/01/2021 17:46

I’ve just recovered from Covid and that’s how it started, I don’t wanna be that person but it might be worth getting a test? My nose was stuffy and then a headache came, followed by watering eyes and a temperature few days later.

megletthesecond · 01/01/2021 17:49

Please get a test. The same symptoms are popping up on the school chat page and some parents are getting positive results.
Even if you are fully able to isolate for 2+ weeks it'll help the data if the true numbers are recorded.

lubeybooby · 01/01/2021 17:52

get a test - three seperate friends recently thought they had 'just a cold' and turned out to be covid, one now has 'long covid' so better to know for sure and be prepared, able to isolate if needed etc

NeonSparkle · 01/01/2021 18:06

Yep me, dh and ds (age 3) are all absolutely full of a snotty streaming cold! Unfortunately DS has it the worst bless him!
