Stupid receipts

I've started off this year frustrated because I went to look for a receipt to exchange a coat I bought last week (from Tesco) and I've lost it!!! This must me the 200th receipt I've lost in the past couple of weeks and I really don't know how I manage to do it - I have them put in the bag when I'm out shopping and then BAM I've lost it and I'm stuck with stuff that don't fit!

Any ideas on how I can keep them safe? What do you guys do? (apart from shoving them in a purse).

Well, I put them in my purse....... so not much help to you if you are against that, but much less likely to get lost until I get home then put on my 'receipts pile', than if they are in a shopping bag or carrier bag.

Some places will email the receipt to you.
Or take a photo on your phone?

I have a receipts folder. I keep all significant receipts in case of needing to return due to faulty goods. I recently returned a double bra set to M&S after 6 weeks as one of them had split at the cleavage. It’s become a habit to put the receipts in it.

Did you use your clubcard? Sometimes they can check that to confirm when it was bought for a return?

I don’t tend to keep receipts, but would it be worth buying yourself a wallet, and then putting every receipt you get into that whilst you are out and about and then transferring to a folder once you get home

Why don't to want to pit them in your purse?

Tesco will refund onto a gift card without a receipt.
