Home alone? Can't go out? Let's party like it's 1999 (let's face it, any year really).

Help yourself to a drink, bring a bottle and add some party food to the table.

What music shall we start the evening with?

Mine are maternity leggings which are too big (I'm not pregnant) and an old t-shirt. I'm so stylish!

I've already had a glass of champagne! Wearing a lovely tracksuit and about to cook beef wellington for the family. This is the first year since about 2009 that I haven't been at a party or hosting but to be honest I'm not too bothered. Will be doing online games with some friends at 8 then watching a film with DH and the kids.

DH & DDog my companions tonight. We picked up a drinks hamper from our local pub this evening so will be enjoying a couple cocktails and glass of bubbles at midnight.

All 3 of us will be wearing crowns later on.
I’m wearing elastic waist trousers which are only a step up from pjs and a mermaid sequin vest top (naturally with a big cardigan and slippers), DDog is joining us in his polka dot pjs Grin

We saw in the New Year on New Zealand time via zoom this am with our families & will enjoy calls with a couple others near midnight.

Here’s to a much better 2021 for all!

We have already got through 1/3 bottle of gin Blush and there's only 3 of us. We were planning on donning our glad rags but the early gin has put pay to that. Neighbours must already be getting annoyed by the music.

No alcohol here yet, not until I've sorted out being hangry.

My company here is a teenager who has told his mates he's having an all nighter on the xbox and I haven't got the heart to say no.

On the plus side I've ordered a chinese takeway.

Can I join in? Deeling lonely as I've just put the last dish of the Italian meal I've been making on the table (garlic and wild mushroom gnocchi) to realise DH is fast asleep upstairs snoring loudly. He's has more than a few drinks this afternoon so I think I'll be seeing the new year in on my own this year. Antipasti and tortellini anyone?

Normally I'm the one starting this thread (for the last couple of years under various names) but more than happy to be a guest this time! I will contribute gingerbread, crackers and trifle. There should be sticky toffee pudding but I never got round to making it after work...

Ooooo I'm off to pick up the chinese very shortly! I'll add that to the virtual table. DH and I are worried we will eat it and fall asleep....we usually love to party! Bottle of bubbly is in the fridge, I'm sure we will get into the swing.

DD1 has been trying to learn how to put on make up so I am fully made up in my leggings and fleece.

(more practice is needed, was the conclusion...)

I've got some morello cherry and almond tart hot from the oven to contribute to the pudding table. Might have a spoonful of sticky toffee pudding while I'm there.
