Selling silver or gold jewellery

Anyone sold any recently? I've just sorted out all my jewellery (using husbands new powerful magnifying glass) and have a lot of silver I no longer wear and some 9ct gold. I know 9ct isn't considered good quality.

Wondered whether it was a waste of time. Hoping to put any cash towards a new ring.

Also have a few pieces with stones. One is marked CZ but there are others I can't tell whether CZ or another stone. I'm not thinking diamond, but how can you tell if no markings?

Put on eBay with clear photographs and as much description as you can and they will find their value.

This time last year, I sold some 9ct gold - a ring and earrings - via an auction house. They were lovely designs so rather than just try to get the gold price, I thought I'd chance it and see if anyone took a liking to them and they did.

I sold quite a bit of silver jewellery on ebay at the same time.

I didnt find it a waste of time at all, I was glad I did it. You need to take good photos though.

Re the unmarked stones, I guess you would need a jeweller to tell you that. You wouldnt want to accidentally get rid of diamonds or white sapphire on the cheap!
