Do you ever wonder the outcome of some threads?

I often follow threads that never reach a conclusion and do sometimes wonder...

Like the one where the woman had a terrible fallout with her DH...he then spent the entire weekend lying on the floor of their walk in wardrobe - in the dark- refusing to eat, drink or communicate with anyone. Every few hours someone would ask 'is he still in the wardrobe?'...and yes he was despite her sending the DC in to try to get him out etc. So strange and just such a desperate situation for her.

There was one a few years ago where a sister was telephoned by the school as an emergency contact to pick up her poorly niece, and when she took her home she discovered a lot of neglect, filthy home, unhygienic with no food etc. and began trying to get temporary custody of niece....I became so invested and then it ended up to be a troll apparently!

Which threads have stuck with you they you still
wonder about?

There was one (maybe a series of threads) by a woman in the process of leaving her husband with the username something like the cost and no knickers, I often wonder if she made it out ok.

I remember Mini if she was the girl with a feeding tube, I even sent her pyjamas when she was in hospital. the mum had a pretty shit time with her OH shagging a neighbour i think, she just didn't have much luck.

Keyra · 01/01/2021 19:18

@Deadringer

Keyra that sounds like a happy ending to me.
Thank you @ Deadringer. It is lovely to have made new friends - especially as they are practical and helpful!

It wasn't clear from my previous post that ds only ended up labouring at the same place as CG because he (CG) virtually got the job for him. I've had CG round a few times for dinner with us by way of a very small thank you.

It's so strange when I think back to when they were working here - I couldn't even look him in the eye!

@CustardySergeant

I want to know what happened about the BIL who stole the OP's raffle prize of a new computer by lying that she hadn't won anything in the raffle.
Omg yes. I'd forgotten about that
ChristingleAlltheWay · 03/01/2021 11:08

@Bobbiepin - I had a line eye thread June 2019. My 10 month old is currently sleeping on my bed Smile.

ChristingleAlltheWay · 03/01/2021 11:16

@Trailing1 - don't know if it was the same thread, but I tried to help a women leaving a dv situation who had 'a dog' many years ago.

I couldn't do anything myself, but I was a member of a FB group set up to foster pets during the floods in the SW a couple of years earlier, so I put a message up and someone offered to take the dog for as long as necessary. So I put them in touch with each other.

Got a v pissed message from the guy a day later. The woman had three large dogs, not just the one. None were vaccinated and she wouldn't consider it, which was the real reason no kennels would take them. He couldn't take the risk, nor the extra two dogs.

No idea what happened to her after that.

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 03/01/2021 11:17

I often think of the poster who fled an abusive DH who had cameras up in the house. It all blew up over a birthday cake and her child’s ruined birthday. She had a small boy and was pg (due last June), and discovered in the course of the court case that her DH was also a bigamist.

She fled to family members.

I think if her often and wish her well.

lovelovelove2020 · 03/01/2021 11:28

The one where a lady had rats coming in from the neighbours next door. The neighbour was elderly and her own children wouldn't help.
So this lady helped neighbour with rat problem. I want to know if they managed to get rid of the rats?
Rats are my worse fear!

invisibleoldwoman · 03/01/2021 11:33

I lost track of one a couple of years ago where the OP was planning to leave her DH.

There was no shortage of money and she was filling a secret storage unit with stuff and sqirrelling money away. She was going to disappear when a financial arrangement came through.

I lost it just before the end and have often wondered if she posted the outcome.

sparklewhynot · 03/01/2021 12:32

The one where the husband was messaging someone famous. The OP never came back to update.

The op did update, but mn had closed the thread as op had requested the first thread be shut down for privacy concerns and they assumed they still existed. There must be someone who was able to read it before it closed.

All the baby name ones! I demand you all come back with cute baby photos and your chosen names!

Meowmeow20202 · 03/01/2021 13:51

I always wondered about multiple mama and her children. She had lots and seemed quite young.

It was under a different username but I did indeed name DD based on Mumsnetter's suggestions. One poster also replied to the pic I'd posted and asked whether we'd consider calling her silly nickname and we've been calling her that ever since Smile.
EssentialHummus · 03/01/2021 14:13

That shouldn't be a hyperlink, that's me failing to use quotation marks and brackets. Soz.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 03/01/2021 14:26

There was a fairly recent one I lost track off. It was written by a middle aged woman (slightly unusual username of stickywhitelovepiss) whose middle aged husband had been stopped by the police I think and kept in the cells overnight. He wouldn't tell op why. I think it started as a my dh hasn't come home thread.

The thread got very long and I think spanned a few months before it was revealed that husband had been stopped for unglamorous drink driving. I don't know what happened after that.

That's one I remember too, I'm sure the username was something about fur coat and no knickers.

I still have that on my watch list just in case. I expect OP hasn't done anything & doesn't want to tell people
Happynow001 · 03/01/2021 17:36

The thread in early 2020? where the woman was married to a farmer (poor father or partner). She had a couple of children with him and was pregnant with another. She was stepmum to a 9yo girl who had behavioural issues caused by her neglectful and very demanding mother and
and the father didn't stand up for his DW or daughter. Last I remember is the DW in possibly early labour and then nothing after. I think the thread title was something like "When do I get a break?" Anyone know if she updated?

smallandimperfectlyformed · 03/01/2021 17:54

It's not so much a thread but a poster I wonder about...I searched for her posts a few weeks ago and all of them had been deleted at her request which makes me think that perhaps there had been a problem with anonymity? I don't want to name her in case that is not allowed but she was quite prolific for quite a long time, from London and was in an interracial marriage. I hope that everything was ok with her, she had had quite a turbulent life.

NoJetter · 03/01/2021 17:55

There was one a few years ago. It stuck with me as I had a baby the same age. I think the lady’s username was Hanna. She had an abusive DH and MIL and they took her very young baby away from her and refused to return him. She stopped updating after a while and I wonder what happened and if she got him back and got the dh and mil out of her life in the end. I do hope so.

Snooks1971 · 03/01/2021 18:03

@BettyOBarley

There was one a few years ago, well I think it was a few threads actually, about a lady who's husband had a brain tumour (was it Tunnocks or something?) I have wondered how she got on.
@BettyOBarley yes Tunnocks. She posted a couple of days ago actually, she is doing bloody brilliantly but going through a fkin tough time too. I will post the link to this recent thread - I hope that is OK to do so, I hope Tunnocks doesn’t mind... please, if inappropriate I will ask for deletion. She’s amazing. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/feeling_depressed/4122832-I-don-t-want-to-carry-on

Think I saw the poster from 'do I ever get a break' having a later thread, not about the SD, but about mh.

Thank you. I hope she managed to sort things out for herself - she was having blood pressure problems during her later pregnancy and I'm not surprised to hear about the MH problems. 🌹

She got the baby back and women’s aid were helping with the court cases for access. it was very stressful, she did post help on other similar threads
