Do you ever wonder the outcome of some threads?

I often follow threads that never reach a conclusion and do sometimes wonder...

Like the one where the woman had a terrible fallout with her DH...he then spent the entire weekend lying on the floor of their walk in wardrobe - in the dark- refusing to eat, drink or communicate with anyone. Every few hours someone would ask 'is he still in the wardrobe?'...and yes he was despite her sending the DC in to try to get him out etc. So strange and just such a desperate situation for her.

There was one a few years ago where a sister was telephoned by the school as an emergency contact to pick up her poorly niece, and when she took her home she discovered a lot of neglect, filthy home, unhygienic with no food etc. and began trying to get temporary custody of niece....I became so invested and then it ended up to be a troll apparently!

Which threads have stuck with you they you still
wonder about?

@lulalulabelle

Was it this one?

Lulalulabelle · 31/12/2020 17:53

@AlternativePerspective thank you, yes that’s the one. I read it in the early hours and then couldn’t find it. Played on my mind all day, I really felt for the OP and her DH. Thank you again

I often wonder what happened to the lady and the neighbours who were obsessed with puddles forming in their garden.

It sounded absolutely hellish. I hope she is ok.

billybagpuss · 31/12/2020 18:01

I wonder how the ‘other’ lady is where the op woke up to her fb flooded with condolences because a rumour was going around that she was dead. It started off lighthearted and lovely and took a macabre turn where the origin of the rumour had a crush on her dh

Wasn't that one a troll too?
OverTheRainbow88 · 31/12/2020 18:27

The one the other day where someone OH oxygen had dropped to 91% with covid.

I often hope he’s ok but OP didn’t return

TwilightSkies · 31/12/2020 18:30

I remember one from years ago, a man who had a wife (nurse I think) with severe OCD. He wanted to leave with their son, as she was abusive and mentally unwell. The thread seemed to just disappear as he was planning his escape.
Always wondered what happened to him and I hope he’s doing well.

SameToo · 31/12/2020 18:37

There was one about 5 or 6 years ago about a poster who’s husband had lit a bonfire and left the petrol canister next to it. It exploded and her DD who i think was about 3 ended up with 3rd degree burns. I think about her a lot. I hope her and her little girl are ok and wonder if she forgave her husband.

PivotPivotPivottt · 31/12/2020 18:39

There was one 2 or 3 years ago that I often think about. I don't want to go into too much detail but the OP posted about hee 2 year old daughter who'd had a tragic accident and she updated the thread one day to say she had died and then never posted again Sad. It was very upsetting and I hope the OP has managed to somehow find some peace.

midnightstar66 · 31/12/2020 19:10

The one I remember was where the family were on an exotic holiday of a life time and the husband who already had existing mental health issues had obviously had some sort of breakdown and was acting dangerously and irrationally, it seemed he's either been taking a new med that didn't agree with him or completely stopped taking them all but it sounded pretty unsafe and scary. I wonder if she got her trip of a lifetime to see the animals she wanted, if they made it home safely and how they are now.

MoonBaby1 · 31/12/2020 19:26

Il remember one from years ago, poss 2014 about a land dispute and neighbours letting their horses roam on their land. No one seemed to have the balls to do anything. I was incredulous.

midnightstar66 · 31/12/2020 19:36

There was a poster around March whose marriage was breaking up after emigrating to NZ with her NZ born DH. I often think of her.

@Apileofballyhoo she posted earlier this month. Situation still pretty much the same

billybagpuss · 31/12/2020 19:44

Does anyone know what happened to twittlebee woods where the neighbours had tried to steal the woods, I know she had a baby but I’m really hoping she got her woods back.

TheLadyGrayson · 31/12/2020 19:45

@Sallycinnamum that one was made up.. couldn’t believe how long it went on, and was all made up! The same poster did the alphabet street parking one too I think 🙄

You may enjoy this thread from classics....there is an actual happy ending!

Dating again (gulp) after being widowed www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/2586932-Dating-again-gulp-after-being-widowed

(I hope the link works?)[/quote]
That was the most amazing thread @Pechanga

I read it in full - took a while - it's beautiful. Felt like I knew Somerville by the end! Thanks for sharing.

Yerroblemom1923 · 31/12/2020 20:10

I often wonder about a woman who had cancer and it was get birthday and she wanted to run away. She had a young child and wanted to make sure he would have memories of her if she died. She posted a few years ago around xmas time. I often think of her, her husband and son. And hope things improved for her.

Sallycinnamum · 31/12/2020 20:16

@TheLadyGrayson omg, was it? I was too over invested in that thread. Damn!

chaosisaladder · 31/12/2020 20:19

I remember the haunted office one! Gutted that was made up. It was a great read though!

plainjaneonthetrain · 31/12/2020 20:26

The mumsnet lady who worked in a shop ( in central London? ) and one of the customers took a shine to her. Last I remember they were going for a walk together and it was getting serious so she stopped posting..

DameCelia · 31/12/2020 20:33

I've always wondered what happened to yellow blinds, her very strange MIL kept turning up when she was working from home and making a scene until she was allowed into the house, where she ate all the food in the kitchen. The MIL sounded deranged but the family had been enabling her for years by the sound of it.
Also would love to know what happened to Bounty Ice Cream, her husband was acting very strangely, wouldn't let her send pictures of their children to her parents.

Hailtomyteeth · 31/12/2020 20:43

There was a single mother with a new baby who was very concerned she couldn't provide a home with a proper dining table for her child. I've thought about her often, and hoped things turned out much better than she expected.

WingingItSince1973 · 31/12/2020 20:47

The lady with the neighbours who were complaining about the puddles and being really antisocial. She lived alone with kids. Was that one made up?? I really hope not. It went on for months and months!.

notapizzaeater · 31/12/2020 20:48

@midnightstar66 I'm sure she came home and they split up 😢

ElfIsAnAss · 31/12/2020 20:53

The one I often wonder about was a woman from South Africa (I think) who discovered she was pregnant. Her boyfriend tried to force her into an abortion so she fled the country and went back home. I don't remember her posting once she got there so no idea what happened.

RudolphReindeersFrostyBaubles · 31/12/2020 21:06

Birdie Friend! I miss your wisdom. Please update.

And there was someone on the thread whose child had said that the trees were sad because everyone was going to die. (Or something like that.)
