Gift for dear friend having a mastectomy

My lovely friend has returned home to her country for a mastectomy. I’d like to send her a gift and would be very grateful for ideas of things that could help or be useful during this period.

I'm sorry about your friend. Things for surgery that might be useful? Perhaps lip balm, Activon to help with the healing, lavender spray to help sleep, refreshing foot cream for the endless lying in bed? A drinking bottle (with a straw so can be used in bed)? Soft dressing gown and socks. A magazine subscription if she has any hobbies (eg gardening) - much easier to flick through magazines rather than try to focus on a book.

Thank you so much! Dressing gown, socks, lavender spray and lip balm sound lovely.

A good book, a cooling eye mask and some really nice edible treats - I'm in a similar position to your friend and those are the things I'd like.
Don't get bubble bath etc because with bandages and so on she won't likely be able to have a bath for a while.
Oh and the bottle with a straw is a great idea too!

@2typesofjungle sorry you are going through this. Wishing you all the best and hope you receive wonderful care. They were super-quick in London with her diagnosis, scans etc but she decided to go home. Thank you for your lovely suggestions.
