DS birthday very soon. He would like gravitrax. I've looked and there are different ones at different prices. What are the differences? Which would you recommend?
Starter set £34.99
PRO vertical starter set £64.99
XXL starter set £99.99

If you can run to it the XXL starter set. You very rapidly run out of riser tiles with the starter set.
I have the starter set and receive add ons for Birthday/Christmas from DD1 & DGD1.
I’m about to treat myself to the XXL Starter so I can use everything at once!
It’s a shame that the riser tiles are not available to buy separately, may be an excuse for a 3D printer!

That's very helpful advice, thank you.
Hope you have lots of fun with yours.

How old is your child? My DS had the normal starter set for his 6th birthday and we bought him additional add ons and a second starter set for his 7th birthday. If your son gets into it, it's better value adding a second starter set than buying the expansion packs.

Personally the XXL starter set seems like a lot of money to spend. The normal set is excellent so I'm happy we stuck with that.

We got Ds the xxl from Facebook unused for £40. It's worth a look on the selling sites.

If you can get a reasonable price for the starter set then it may be cheaper to get 2 of those rather than the xxl set. I'd advise getting a couple of extensions if you possibly can.

Depends on childs age. My 5 yr old ds has the starter set and some add ons and is able to make the tracks himself, plus makes up lots of his own. He got the gravitrax pro (vertical) starter set for christmas and it looks a bit harder to do

He'll be 9
