How do you organise your freezer

I need to start batch cooking and freezing. I'm not well at the moment and need some nutritious meals on hand.

But, I've got a craply shaped tall thin freezer and struggle to see what's in there.

Is there a great way to organise or record what's in there? I'm hoping I'm missing a trick!

Something that really helps me is to freeze food 'flat' in labelled plastic bags and stack them like books. Write a list of what you've frozen and cross things off (or alter no. of packs/portions) when you take something out.

Also consider freezing meal components to make throwing a dinner together less work

Exactly what ladymonica said. We raw feed our dogs so have lost between 1/2 and 2/3 of our freezer space to their meat so have needed to be creative with storage. The bags mean there is no wasted space which there was previously with plastic boxes.
