Frozen leg of lamb - help!

We ordered a leg of lamb for a roast today but it’s arrived frozen when I thought I’d ordered a chilled one Shock

Is there any way to defrost this in the microwave?

I thought you could cook leg of lamb from frozen?
Might be worth a Google

Maybe try the cold water method. The microwave will cook bits of it

In a sink/ bowl of cool water, regularly changing it. I wouldn't attempt to microwave defrost it, it is too solid. The outside will start to cook, even on defrost, while the inside stays frozen solid.

Unless you've time to make sure it's defrosted right through using the water method, it's probably safer to cook from frozen using the appropriate timings.

Anyone remembering the Roald Dahl story, 'Lamb to the Slaughter'?Grin

Thanks so much! I didn’t think it was possible to cook it from frozen but I’ve googled and it looks like you can

You can cook any meat joint from frozen. Mumsnet gets a bit hysterical about it and you'll get a bunch of people saying "dont risk it" but there us absolutely no risk. It's totally fine.

Lol, I was thinking of that story as soon as I read the title Grin
