I need a plug converter but don’t actually know which country this is from.... I’m guessing America as that’s where the machine is from but it doesn’t look like American plugs I’ve used before!

What nationality is this plug please?!

Are the pins parallel? We have an old Australian Wii and the converter has the pins slightly angled.

Weedsnseeds1 · 31/12/2020 00:02

USA but you can buy multinational adapters

Icanseewhyichangednyusername · 01/01/2021 14:01

@Weedsnseeds1 I think you may be on to something as it’s really hard to tell even with everybody brilliant suggestions !

It's an adapter to a 5v 1amp, it's almost certainly cheaper and more sensible to just buy a different USB 2 other end connector and go with that.

I second thatSmile It's what I use.
sirfredfredgeorge · 01/01/2021 14:56

It actually can ship with optional adapters into UK plugs, it is a US one, it's one of these:
www.hdp-power.com/qb-power-adapter

But really, the easiest thing is to just find an adapter for the other end rather than a plug adapter, this is a very generic power supply.

InTheLongGrass · 01/01/2021 15:02

Type A - US, Japan, China plus others.

What nationality is this plug please?!
VeniVidiWeeWee · 01/01/2021 15:06

It's definitely U.S.A. Just Google the model number QB05010C.

Nanny2many · 01/01/2021 23:39

@sirfredfredgeorge thank you , so informative! Erm..... what do I need to buy then please?

sirfredfredgeorge · 01/01/2021 23:45

You need to show us the other end, and possibly measure it - it's a plug, like one of the ones on
www.amazon.co.uk/MEROM-Universal-Chargering-Connector-1-35mm/dp/B08GLJ4PGJ/?tag=mumsnetforu03-21
No need to pay that much though, but you do need to identify which one you need, then you either buy the USB cable, or a whole power bank depending on what's best for you. Most people have lots of USB power plugs laying around.

Nanny2many · 02/01/2021 22:08

@sirfredfredgeorge thanks! I didn’t even realise it could detach, I tboyght it was all one piece.

What nationality is this plug please?!
addler · 02/01/2021 22:17

Don't assume it's nationality, you might think it's a U.K. one but in actual fact it's always considered itself French.

sirfredfredgeorge · 02/01/2021 22:47

Now that looks like 5.5mm x 2.1mm which is a very common size, if you have a normal kids ruler measure the outside on the end and the inside between the black, it should be 5.5mm on the outside and 2.1mm on the inside - although it could be something close as there are other close sizes. If it is that you can just get a USB one like:
www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00SCBAE00/?tag=mumsnetforu03-21
for a couple of quid and plug it in to any USB supply (almost all will be as powerful as the wall wart in your first picture) or you could buy a whole wart that has a similar connector.

Or just buy a US to UK plug adapter, that works too, but the cable alone is probably cheapest.
