COVID tests at schools

Does anyone know more specifics as to the testing they are going to be doing at high schools. DS is 12 has asd , he has frequent nose bleeds, I know for a fact a meltdown will occur if someone tries to put something up his nose or down his throat, when he had tonsillitis he almost threw up when they looked in his mouth. He is currently segregated from the rest of his year in a separate room with 2 other kids due to his additional needs.

I think they are only testing if they are a close contact of a confirmed case. You can chose to not test and do the ten days isolation instead of the daily testing I believe.

They are also doing mass testing before they go back to school, but you have to give consent.

I suspect most secondary pupils will do the swabs themselves under supervision.

I’d love for him to do one I just know he won’t do it, 10 days self isolating won’t be a problem for him anyway as he barely leaves the house anyway but I don’t want him home as he struggles academically anyway and is behind as it is. I’m not mentally ready to homeschool again, I’m just getting over the first time. Quite frankly I’m shit at it and I want better for my kids,
