Anyone know about Paysafecard?

Can someone please tell me how widely used these are? There are several shops selling them and apparently it's something to do with paying for Google Play? Is this normal as I don't know how it works.

What do you want to use it for? You can buy prepaid cards for Google play already if thats primarily what you want it for
