Getting back in to work after Christmas

Is anybody else finding it really hard to get back in to work after the Christmas break?

I took my time off before Christmas and was off for just over a week. Now on day 2 back again, staring aimlessly at emails not knowing how or where to start and have zero motivation. Still at home as I have been since March.

It doesn't help that my kids are still at home as is my DH who just seems to be hanging about and not doing anything useful even though there is plenty to be done with kids and in the house.

I think next year I might take my leave after Christmas rather than before as after the excitement of Christmas all seems a bit flat and depressing.

Following. I have this coming up on Monday.

The best year I had was working the days in between (nice and quiet, catch up and get ahead) then taking the first week of January off. Felt more like an actual break, and more motivating. I have sat on my arse for days and not even sure what day it is.

I think most ppl feel the same as we are still in that in between stage. Do you have nice weekend plans?

It's a bit quieter than usual for this week at work (for good reasons, cannot say what as outing). I always try to have tasks that can be done almost at any time at work saved up for this week, which I find useful.
