Hot water bottles - are you or your cats and dogs using them yet ?

I don't have any pets but I haven't used my HWB at all this end of the year. I don't know why I haven't got round to it as it's certainly cold enough.

What a fabulous, humble invention the HWB is.

I never bother with mine - if I'm cold enough to need it then even a body-sized hot water bottle wouldn't take the shivers away.

And the cats have never had one, because they have a human-body-sized hot water bottle in the form of me.

My hot water bottle is more or less my favourite possession atm. Our house is not particularly cold but I just love having that hot spot in bed. I rest my aching hip or knee against it (got sciatica or something similar) and it is a blessed relief. A simple but very significant pleasure in life.

We use snugglesafes for pets and humans! Really recommend them

@NotExactlyHappyToHelp I do exactly the same! always have one tucked in my waistband. Not had it fall out on the school run - yet...Grin

I use my HWB long before the heating goes on and have been known to take it cmaping and even out of cold walks!

Pretty much now used daily, at least in the evening, frequently if sat on the sofa and when I'm.WFH.

Best invention ever! Don't know how I'd stay warm otherwise (very cold uninsulated, Victorian home).

I was given a approx 3ft long thin shaped one for Christmas. Perfect for lying next to and warming your whole body, or draping over shoulders / around waist for pain. My best present this year!

@WildRosie - currently have my HWB in bed and have done for a few months now x

WildRosie · 29/12/2020 22:02

The HWB is magnificent. I bought mine years ago during a bout of nasty tummy troubles. Wot comfort!

I really need to dig out my microwaveable one which is buried in a drawer upstairs. DH is starting to whinge about my ice-block feet when I get into bed at night, and I admit they can be a problem.
